New Booties!

I had to chuck out two broken pairs of boots this week but I found some lush replacements at Woolies! These puppies are sooo comfy. I wish I could road test 'em around London. Speaking of London, Pippa will be there this week and she's bringing me back the Diana Dreamer - thanks Pip!

Blog, meet blue typewriter

Here it is, my cute new little typewriter! I bought this puppy from the Thrift Collection, a second-hand blog store run by my friend, Pippa. The only time I get to go charity shopping is on a Saturday morning but I rarely do as most of the the stores are located in crazy parts of town (and I'm usually sleeping. Ahem.) So being able to buy stuff through the Thrift Collection is just brilliant! And the best thing about it are the bargalicious prices - how about a vintage dress for 40 zars anyone? Heck yes.

I'm wearing a vintage top from I Heart Market and a skirt from JayJays. The ice-cream timer is from Mr Price Home, the camera is from the Kloof SPCA and the pot-plant is from Woolies!

5 Questions with Busy Bee Lauren (Not me. Ahem)

Here's another fabulous blogger you may already know! Please say hi to Busy Bee Lauren. She's married to her Ted and lives in the US of A. This girl LOVES colour and prints and I love her for it. Here's a little Q&A sesh we had over mail. (How darn cute is she?)

1. What's the craziest thing you've ever done?

Hmm...probably waiting 2 years without talking or seeing Ted, while he served a mission in Madagascar. I got to a point where I forgot what his voice sounded like. Insane.

2. If you could photograph anyone, who would you choose and why?

I'm assuming they could be living or dead...and in that case I have to go with Gene Kelly. I love him so much. I would personally love to photograph him while he danced, because he holds his body in such a way that it looks elegant and at the same time, manly. It's amazing.

3. Most romantic thing you've ever done?

I actually am not very romantic. I'm not really a touchy feely kind of person. I think love is small acts of kindness each day to show the person you care about them, and are thinking about them. Whether it be, leaving ted a sticky note that says i love him, on his steering wheel, or getting up early to make him breakfast. It's about the day to day. Because in the end, it's not about a few grand romantic gestures that keep people together and in love...it's about the daily acts of love.

4. What's the one thing you wish you had more time to do?

Read! I already read so much as it is, but I wish I could just lay on my sofa reading all day. Wouldn't that be glorious?

5. How would you spend an extra 50 bucks today?

I'd really like to take those 50 dollars and go thrifting for some excellent vintage goodness!

The Rockstar Diaries

Crikey mother, I've 'discovered' some great blogs of late. Aka, clicked through all your blog rolls with a crazed look on my face. The Rockstar Diaries is a new fave of mine to pour over with a cuppa in hand. (Pour my eyes over, not the cuppa.) Tazza and her husband live in Washington DC where they write about their adventures as young, happy thrifters in love. How wonderful are these photos that Leo Patrone snapped of them? My new-found love for bulldogs and bowties knows no bounds! This is just the sort of styling and editing, I'd like to aim for with Smitten. (Shameless linkage!)

Mmmm, I just love how bright, crisp and colourful these pics are. I've been thinking about scribbling a 'Five to Follow' post like the one Lily does on Sundays. Perhaps I'll think up a new name so I'm not completely nicking her idea which I think is just lovely. Part of me loves discovering new blogs but the other part is like, 'When the heck are you going to read all these Missy?' I haven't had a chance to shoot much over the past few days - (That's photos as always. I hate to think of the words 'Glossary,' 'Shoot' and 'Lauren' being indexed together on google.) - but I've got a few cute things that I'm excited to show you soon. Can anyone say 'Blue Typewriter?' I've said too much.
