My first issue of Lula

I had never heard of Lula Magazine until a few months ago when I started reading fashion blogs. From the bits and pieces I saw online, it looked more like a fairy tale than a fashion magazine. I'd been meaning to find out if it's available in South Africa when I discovered it by chance in CNA a few days ago! Two copies were sitting all alone on the bottom shelf just begging to be paged through. I had to buy one even though I'm trying hard to keep my purse buttoned up this month. At R149, it's the most I've ever spent on a magazine but I feel like I've invested in a work of art! I see it retails for six quid in the UK which isn't bad considering how wonderfully dense it is. Leith Clarke, Lula editor and ex Voguette says Lula is 'created for people of the world who love fashion, music, art, & make believe. It is gentle, whimsical and ethereal in tone, mixing high fashion to fall in love with and interviews that feel like late night chats with people you wish you knew.' It's only published twice a year which makes it feel even more special. I feel so inspired after escaping into the pages, I could take a million pics! Here's a look at some of the soft dreaminess inside. x

PS: I didn't get a chance to take any pics of my outfit before the wedding on Saturday but I'll show you the dress I wore, later in the week. I'll also be posting my inty with Alex tomorrow but only a little later in the day. Have a lovely Sunday evening. x

R149 is a small price to pay I'd say (after-all it's only twice a year). Beautiful photographs. I love the Lula Magazine website.
