I brought you flours (and a dodgy blog)

New blog followers, what have I done to deserve you? This blog is dying. The regulars know it. I know it. Haha. No, I'm just on a blogging breather...I say that all the time. Ever since I moved into my own spot and incurred a million new expenses, my spare time is spent like this: freelance in evenings, freelance on weekends, play a bit of guitar, drink a glass of wine, derp around at a friend's house, read Rage comics (where have you been all my life?), sleep, eat a baked potato, freelance some more, sleep, take a bath, watch movies. It doesn't make for scintillating blogging! But hey ho...I'll just bung up some random bits when I get a chance. I rewatched Stranger than Fiction the other night (check out the effort that went into these screem shots!) and decided that Mugato being sensitive = best movie moment ever. Love this scene. And I love the song he plays.

And that guys, is how you pull a chick! Sorry if you've never seen this scene before and I just spoilt the whole thing. Ha.

My Saturday in Instagram

Oi, another Instagram post – not a DSLR snap in sight! I felt like taking it easy on Saturday which meant the Canon had to stay at home.

From top to bottom: Stripy jimjams for the win! Iced coffee and the paper at the deli. Climbing a tree in my folk’s back yard. I’m a bit obsessed with taking pics of trees. Cuddling the dogs. I asked my mom to have a bash at working out Mumford and Sons on piano. I just love the piano parts in Dustbowl Dance. (Mad song name!) I collected my old classical guitar so it can live with me now. Hanging with my bro who was down from Jozi. Popped into Cath’s afterwards and watched SATC. Then went to have drinks with some friends at Andy’s house where we cuddled Fat Cat. Later, my brother and I went to meet some friends at Columbo Coffee Roastery to watch bands – including my absolute fave SA band – Thomas Krane. Then I went home and made eggs and soldiers while the daisies kept me company. Afterwards I crawled into bed and watched Shirley Valentine which my mom had lent to me. I’d always wanted to watch it and it was brilliant! All in all, a very nice Saturday. Hope you guys had a good one too? x

Um, Instagram!

What is this? Instagram pics on Gloss? Yup - long story short, I got an iPhone. My erm, one-year dream of having Instagram in my life has been attained! And we're in love. I can't walk two feet without snapping something. Random rock? Bring it on. The garage shop? Sure, you'll look cool in sepia! Can't say I'm loving the iPhone keypad though. Takes me about ten minutes to tap in a text! So you can find me on Instagram under GlossaryLauren. Below: my new boots! / A sleepy me in the morning / The view from my flat which I love so much / Pencils / Coffee in the office / My grumpy owl which Nadia wants to pinch. Ha. / New sandals (Three of my fave pairs of shoes broke in two weeks!) / My minty Diana. Plenty more random pics to be snapped soon. x

Workspace bits and pieces

I have a great weakness for cute stationery. I'm sure many of you do too!?
So here are a few bits and pieces from our new office and my workspace.
Happy Sunday everyone x

Red & Yellow Office Cheer

Since I blogged about that song on Sunday - everyone has been cracking up, telling me, it's like a Number 1 hit everywhere including SA - ha! Gosh, I never listen to the radio so these things pass me by. But glad I've caught up to the Gotye phenom! So, yeah, on Saturday, I had a lovely lunch with my blogger pals and sweet Casey gave me this awesome Kodak camera. I've run out of space to display anymore cameras in my studio so this chap now lives on my desk at work with my Polaroid. Thanks Case, I just adore it! And then my colleague and I were walking through the giant sweet aisle at Makro yesterday and I thought, 'Hey, we should have a sweet jar!' So we bought Fizz Pops and  this epic chalkboard jar which we found in the glassware aisle. Good times!
